The Great Work

Like the Wind, the Root, the Dream
-there's strength in the Unseen.
we're high and then we're low.
we're hidden -then exposed.

I'm gonna take it   nice          and                   s l o w.

Like an echo off the walls,
reverberate the call.
                      Distinctive as the Crow
perched upon the Archer's bow...

I'm gonna take it   nice           and                  s l o w.
gonna recognize the Soul.

On and up
toward the Absolute.
Better brace my self
for the naked Truth.
There's a pilgrim in my heart
dying to be set free.
There's a lover in your eyes
and I know it's desire I see.
They say there's truth in wine
so have another drink with me.

So many things to know,
many places you could go,
but how far will you run
with words that weigh a ton.

I'm gonna take it   nice             and                  s l o w.
gonna recognize the Soul.

I call this thing Defending the Wild-Life because I find that I spend so much time doing exactly that.  Defending my love for Totally Untamed Creative Expression. I have many wanderings through melody and rhyme, but not often do I sit and separate the words from the music.  So I guess I'm sort of doing this for posterity.  Maybe just as another experiment.  Maybe just to share them with whoever falls down the rabbit hole and ends up here to read.  Anyway--take it slow and if you are curious what kind of music would accompany these words let me know and I would be glad to get you some.  So now I start putting little messages in a bottle and throwing them into one very big river.
